I love crowding around a big table loaded with turkey, potatoes, and casseroles and celebrating family, friends, and good fortune. But for me, the entire month of November is a time to count blessing and give thanks, right up to the big day: Thanksgiving.
This month started with my 25th class reunion! It was a fantastic weekend of catching up with friends and classmates I hadn’t seen in years. What a great way to start off the month!
We enjoyed the beautiful fall weather and changing of the season…
While traveling, we happened to stumble on a super cool hydro-electric plant, learned about the amazing discoveries of Nikola Tesla, and proudly supported the campaign to build a museum at his old laboratory. We purchased “Tees for Tesla” and bought a “Brick for Nick.”
We enjoyed a Hurricanes Hockey game (and they won in overtime!), caught the Jeff Dunham “Disorderly Conduct” tour, made some fancy pizza pies and generally enjoyed some family time.
Then our neighbors put up their Christmas lights and we were struck with the holiday spirit! As we normally do at the holidays, the girls broke out the charm bracelets…
All of this culminating into an amazing Thanksgiving day: delicious food and wine, fun with a wishbone, and a relaxing afternoon watching the Macy’s Day Parade and the football game.
There is nothing I love more than counting these blessings, big and small. Best to you and yours for a very warm and happy holiday season!
