Sunsets, Fabulous Fall & Flea Markets

As the “Be Thankful” month of November continues, the blessings continue!  When coming home from work this past Friday, I witnessed an absolutely beautiful sunset.  A gorgeous, complex, deep lavender cloud twisted across a mango-cranberry sky as the golden orb of the sun set in the distance.  It was truly amazing!

Softly the evening came. The sun from the western horizon…
Like a magician extended his golden wand o’er the landscape.

It’s rare that I get a chance to see a good sunset.  The timing always seems to be slightly off: either too early or too late, or we’re just too busy on the weekend to catch it.  But this stunning sunset reminded me just how much I love the light in the fall.  The mornings bring a beautiful pinkish hue, the late day light lingers through the fall leaves.  Everything is beautiful and hazy as autumn leaves flutter from the trees.

As we were working outside this weekend, I had a chance to relish the most wonderful fall day.  The temperature was delightful, a light breeze was blowing and the leaves were just breathtaking. Another November “Be Thankful” kind of day!

And it wasn’t just the beauty of nature I was thankful for this weekend. On Saturday, we stopped by the state fairgrounds in Raleigh to wander around the giant flea market that takes place every weekend! What fun it is to find unique treasures and great buys… not to mention fresh food, boiled peanuts, ice cream and fresh deep-fried doughnuts!

What I’m enjoying most about “Be Thankful” month is relishing all these wonderful moments. And I find that the more I’m thankful for… the more there is to enjoy!
